The traditional Japanese practice of Seiza - sitting on the heels - promotes natural spinal alignment and is widely used in yoga and meditation. The River bench supports this posture with a comfortable kneeling seat that alleviates knee and ankle discomfort, helping you stay grounded for longer sessions.
Cut entirely from solid walnut, each bench is built by hand in our studio. The removable legs can be placed in the outer slots for added stability or the inner slots for a wider, more open leg position. Try both to find what works best for you.
A clever cutout on the legs and a locking system on the underside of the seat form a convenient carry handle with no extra hardware or added thickness, so you can carry it with you wherever you go.
